IPROWD Miimi-djuul is a partnership between TAFE NSW and the NSW Police Force which will assist Aboriginal school students to gain the skills and confidence to join the NSW Police Force in the future. IPROWD Miimi-djuul is an industry focused program that provides Aboriginal school students with a CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services qualification – customised for the NSW Police Force and offered as part of the HSC program as a TVET Course consisting of 2 units for 2 years (NESA course number 58256. 2 units by 2 years).

IPROWD Miimi-djuul is a partnership between

IPROWD Miimi-djuul 2018 Applications close on Friday 1 September 2017 and late applications will not be considered.

Interviews for IPROWD Miimi-djuul will be conducted during the week beginning Monday 11 September to 15 September 2017. Only 2017 Year 10 students are to apply. This course is for 2018 Year 11 students. 2018 Year 12 students cannot apply.

WHAT IS IPROWD Miimi-djuul?

IPROWD Miimi-djuul is an industry focused program that provides Aboriginal school students with a CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services qualification – customised for the NSW Police Force and offered as part of the HSC program as a TVET Course consisting of 2 units for 2 years. (NESA course number 58256. 2 units by 2 years) IPROWD Miimi-djuul includes:

    • Face to face delivery, one day a week or flexible delivery, fortnightly 2 hour video conferences, 5 day face to face blocks once a term
    • Health and fitness activities to meet the fitness standards for NSW Police Force
    • IPROWD uniforms including a Polo shirt and jacket and learning resources
    • An IPROWD Miimi-djuul Aboriginal mentor to support students throughout the 2 year program
    • 35 hours x 2 work placement with the PCYC at a location of your choice
    • Linkage with the IPROWD full-time program so students also have student role models
    • An IPROWD Code of Conduct that sets clear attendance, participation, dress and behaviour standards for students
    • On completion of IPROWD Miimi-djuul students will have a pathway to the IPROWD Training Program, as a full-time Certificate III course for Aboriginal students.

Other future pathways may include: TAFE Courses in Community Services, and University courses in Social Work, Social Science and Psychology. University courses in Criminal Justice/ Law/ Criminology, or occupations such as Community Development Officer, Indigenous Youth Worker or Juvenile Justice Officer Court/Community.
